Why isn't Dontell Jefferson an All Star?????

When you look at the crop of 2009 D League All Stars you are looking at guys that are close. Close to their dream of getting on an NBA roster, and very close to getting paid real money to do what we all love.

But as I look at the rosters this year it is hollow. Don't get me wrong, I am glad the Flash will be represented by Ronald Dupree. I love this guy. Brad Jones gave him the greatest compliment today "I can rest easy knowing Dupree is playing". But with a 15-10 record (5th best in the league) Dontell Jefferson has been with the team all the way. When the Celtics guys left during the Showcase we wondered who would step up; he has been that guy.

He has played great in the past month. Taking us from a sub .500 team to a .600 team. This guy is silky smooth on the court and has impressed multiple NBA teams. The GM of one NBA team recently called me to ask about his character off the court and said that he was "one of, if not the best player in the league".

So why isn't Dontell going to All Star? I am biased-no question about it-100%. But forget that. Let's look at it analytically. The guy is averaging 18 points, 5 rebounds, 5.7 assists, with an efficiency rating of +18. There is at least one player on the blue team and two on the red team playing in the All Star game who have lower stats. I'm not trying to take anything away from those other guys, but when you look at our record and you look at the comparable stats, Dontell should have made the team.

If you agree post a message to the President of the League HERE.

If you disagree feel free to post some hate on my blog.
